Six companies fess up to Vietnam tallow六家公司明說越南脂

Chiang Yu-mei (姜郁美), acting director-general of the FDA, stated that the FDA has urged Vietnam authorities to provide official documents to prove that their tallow products as well as the company's coconut oil products are safe for human consumption. So far, Vietnam has not produced any documents.
The six companies are Wei Chuan, UTC foods, Hsin Yu Yuan (新玉園食品廠), Gen Asia Biotech Co. Ltd. (詮亞股分有限公司), San E Foods Ingredients Co. Ltd. (三億食品原料) and Hsing-fu Hsiung Ti (幸福兄弟企業).According to the FDA, after it issued preventive recalls on all the products that were suspected to have been made with improper tallow products from Ting Hsin, six companies reported themselves to local health departments, saying that they had bought products from the firm.

TAIPEI, Taiwan -- The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) yesterday published the names of six food retailers, including Wei Chuan (味全) and UTC Foods (聯夏食品), which have been buying Ting Hsin tallow products. These are suspected to have been mixed with animal feed oil from Vietnam-based oil company Dai Hanh Phuc Company.

“However, they did reply that they will be ready to provide relevant information in the near future,” said Chiang.

“Since we have not gotten official documents yet to prove that these products are edible, we have to suspect that they may be harmful to humans and need to be recalled as a precaution,” she continued.

Chiang also said that the FDA has tracked a total of 14 companies that purchased products from Ting Hsin. If the remaining eight companies did not report in by 8 p.m. yesterday, they could face fines ranging from NT$30,000 to NT$3 million based on the Act Governing Food Safety and Sanitation. According to the FDA's statistics, 9,710 kilogram of related products have already been pulled from shelves so far.

The FDA also stated that although Hsing-fu Hsiung Ti reported that it used the tallow products only for industrial use, it will investigate to find out whether any tainted oil was mixed with food products.

台北，台灣 - 美國食品和藥物管理局（FDA）昨天發布的6食品零售商的名稱，包括衛出廠（味全）和聯合食品公司（聯夏食品），已買頂新油脂產品。這些被懷疑已混合飼料油來自越南的石油企業代禪師福企業。

根據FDA後，它發出的所有懷疑已與頂新集團不當脂產品的產品的預防性召回，六家公司報告自己當地衛生部門說，他們已經從該公司購買的產品。

六家公司是味全UTC食物，心畬遠（新玉園食品廠），創亞生物科技股份有限公司（詮亞股分有限公司），新E的食品配料有限公司（三億食品原料）和興福雄鈦（幸福兄弟企業）。

蔣玉梅（姜鬱美），代理總幹事使用本品時說，FDA已經要求越南當局提供的官方文件，以證明其油脂產品以及該公司的椰子油產品是安全食用。到目前為止，越南還沒有產生任何文件。

“不過，他們確實答复，他們將隨時為您提供在不久的將來相關的信息，”蔣說。

“由於我們還沒有得到正式文件尚未證明這些產品是食用的，我們不得不懷疑，他們可能對人體有害，需要召回，作為預防措施，”她繼續說。

蔣介石還表示，FDA已經跟踪共有14家公司，從頂新集團購買的產品。如果其餘八家公司並沒有在晚上8點昨日報導，他們將面臨罰款，根據法律管理食品安全衛生，從新台幣30,000元新台幣三百萬元。根據FDA的統計，9710公斤相關產品已經從拉架子至今。

FDA還指出，儘管興福雄鈦報告說，它使用的油脂產品僅用於工業用途，它將調查，找出任何毒油是否與食品混合。
